National aviation body formed

PA Wellington Aviation organisations throughout New Zealand have created one over-all body to represent their interests. The New Zealand Aviation Federation will be launched officially tomorrow, when the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McLachlan) attends a function at the Wellington Aero Club rooms. The federation comprises the Aircraft Owners’ and Pilots’ Association, the Aviation Industry Association, the Federation of Parachute

Clubs, the Flying Schools’ Association, the Gliding Association. the Hang Gliding Association, the Sport and Vintage Aviation Society, the Royal New Zealand Aero Club, and the Society of Licensed Aircraft Engineers and Technologists. The federation's secretary (Mr M. D. Fitzgerald) said that for some time representatives of the various national organisations had discussed the formation of a federation to present a combined viewpoint on matters of concern.
