The new Rainbow ski-field area (shown by the dotted lines) being developed in the Six Mile Basin near Lake Rotoiti already had a good snow cover when this picture was taken about two weeks ago. NelsonMarlborough’s other ski-field, Mount Robert, is in a direct line over the big tarn and about 2 km beyond the ridge. Between the two fields is Lake Rotoiti and there is a superb view from the top.
