Remand on rape charge
PA Gisborne An umemployed youth, aged 17, charged with rape was remanded to Tokanui Hospital for psychiatric examination when he appeared in the District Court at Gisborne yesterday.
He entered no plea' and was remanded in custody for a month. His name and that of the complainant were suppressed. The charge arose from the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl on Sunday.
