Japan Derby to Katsu Top.
NZPA-Reuter Tokyo The pre-race favourite Katsu Toppuehsu captured the 123.5 million yen (about $NZ624,000) forty eighth Japan Derby horse race in Tokyo on Sunday. The colt, which is by the British-bred stallion Yellow God and was ridden by Shoichi Ohsaki, won the first prize money of 65 million yen (about 5NZ327.600). Katsu Toppuehsu won by a nose from the Irish-bred Saneisoron, ridden by Futoshi Kohima, covering the 2400 m journey at the Tokyo race course in 2min. ?8-ssec.
