Miss Praise a one to watch
Special correspondent Hastings Miss Praise, a likely looking two-year-old in Ron Saxon’s stable galloped attractively at Hastings yesterday and could be one to watch next time out. Fast work was carried out on the plough (slushy) and No. 1 grass (heavy). Miss Praise worked with Gold Iron over 600 metres on the plough in 38.2 seconds. Miss Praise, with by for the bigger weight, was hitting out extremely well at the finish. Jester Purpose and Katrina’s Pride began fast from the 1200-metre peg on the plough and ran home in lmin 20.65, the last 600 m in 4lsec. Claim and Voir Rouge scampered over 600 metres
on the plough in 38.2 sec. They are members of the Alan Douglas’ team. The Fox was not extended when running 800 metres in 54.95ec., the last 600 in 41sec. and Young Steve seconded lmin 7.95ec., for 1000 metres, the last 600 in sO.Ssec. Tosto. partnered Reveal over GOO metres on the No. I grass in 40sec. while Verdi ran the same distance on the plough in 40.6 sec. Contestant finished ahead of Poisson Volant after 1200 metres, the last 600 in 40.2 sec. Sousa took lmin. 6.3 sec. for IQOO metres, the last 600 in 39.25ec. Royal Hair and Soltee took 39.35ec. for 600 metres on the No. 1 grass while Penumbra ran over the same distance on the plough in 39.55e.c-
