Move to avoid meetings clash

retary-manager Mr Hafford Poland, said all bodies were concerned at the parlous financial state of racing, trotting, and greyhound clubs whose costs are increased at a rate far beyond the increased revenue from totalisator investments. “The meeting discussed action that could be taken to improve the situation and one of the suggestions was to encourage a greater spread of racing dates to make better use of the T.A.B.’s facilities.” A committee, representing all the organisations, will meet later this month. It will prepare a report to be presented to the combined committee of the Racing and Trotting Conferences and the Greyhound Racing Association at its next meeting in July.
