Wanganui hangs on
PA Wanganui Wanganui survived a great second-half Taranaki revival to win its third straight Queen’s birthday week-end representative rugby match at Spriggens Park yesterday. On the back pedal through
the final 49 minutes, Wanganui held on through some tremendous tackling to pip its arch-rival, 6-4, to avenge its 0-31 loss in New Plymouth on Anzac Day. Scorers: Wanganui, G. Willacy, two penalty goals; Taranaki, J. Cameron a try.
