Smoking in restaurants

Sir,—Congratulations to Mr Barnes for having the courage to run his lunch-bar the way he wants it to be. Best of luck to him. and if he also adds “No smoking” to his sign I will be happy to patronise his restaurant some time. There is nothing worse, while enjoying a rest and refreshments in a tearoom, than when somebody comes along, lights up a cigarette and pollutes the atmosphere for all. The sooner restaurateurs take the initiative and put up “No Smoking” signs the happier the majority of their patrons will be.—Yours, etc.,

P. E. MASON. May 30, 1981.
