Traffic officers
Sir—Observers of any traffic accident see two or three M.O.T. cars and then a police vehicle. Since M.O.T. officers need handcuffs and frequently are assaulted why should they not all wear the police cap — and uniform. A police force to police the law; economists would prove we pay twice for an inferior service. One's common sense repeats the need to get full value from every law enforcement vehicle on the road. — Yours, etc., H. REWARD. May 28, 1981.
