Paparoa wins rugby
A trv late in the game by the Shirley senior player. Frank Jack, gave Paparoa a 12-6 win over Wellington in the final of the annual inter-districts prison officers' rugby tournament at the Denton Oval yesterday.
Eddie Westnipp converted the. try and kicked a penalty goal
and Paul Rushton also landed a penalty goal. Six teams took part in the twoday event and in the play-off for third and fourth, Wanganui beat Auckland.
Today a New Zealand prison officers’ team will meet a combined Police and Air Force XV at Wigram.
