All England too swift at Timaru
PA Timaru The All England netball team was too fast for South Canterbury at Timaru on Saturday, winning by 47-16. For South Canterbury it was the team’s first representative match of the season, whereas the All England team had just come from a season in Britain, and five games on its New Zealand tour.
South Canterbury began well and marked its oppo-
nents closely. England was the first to score and throughout the game the All England captain and goal attack, Jillean Hipsey, applied pressure. The footwork of the England team was swift and once the ball was in the team’s possession, it seldom lost control.
The first quarter ended with the score 7-5 to All England; the second quarter 19-11; and the third quarter 31-12.
