Robbery charge

A youth, aged 17, was refused bail when he appeared in the District Court in Christchurch on Saturday, • charged with the armed robbery of the Cranford Street Post Office on Thursday. Kara Kata Lupo, unemployed, was remanded without plea to tomorrow. He appeared before Messrs R. Leach and S. Smith, Justices of the Peace.

Lupo is charged with robing Beverley Ann Bell of $BB6 while armed with a .303 rifle.

Sergeant W. J. McCormick opposed bail. He said that Lupo, had a list of convictions.
