Replacement half-back
PA Wellington The former long-serving Scottish half-back, Alan Lawson, will join the Scottish team in New Zealand later this week. The Scottish team’s manager, Mr Ken Smith, said yesterday that an X-ray examination conducted on the side’s No. 2 half-back,. Gordon Hunter, after Saturday’s
match against Wellington, revealed he had suffered a broken cheek bone. Lawson toured New Zealand with Scotland in 1975 and was the regular halfback for several seasons before the elevation of ROy Laidlaw, who replaced Hunter in the fifteenth minute of the second spell in Saturday’s match.
