Dunedin wool firmer
Prices firmed throughout the combined final DunedinInvercargill wool sale yesterday especially for full fleece and the better second-shear.
From the Otago catalogue the Wool Board bought 648 bales, 3.85 per cent of the. offering. During the March and April sales the board at times bought nearly 50 per cent.
Compared with recent sales at Christchurch and Napier all fine wools were very firm, as was crossbred fleece. Although crossbred skirtings and second-shear were inclined in buyers’ favour, crossbred oddments and crutchings were firm. Crossbred first and second lambs’ fleece was generally unchanged. . ...,J - Main competition came! from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and New Zealand mills.
