32,000 on benefit
PA Wellington A total of 32,595 people, 20,002 males and 12,593 females were being paid the unemployment benefit as at May 15. said the Social Welfare Department yesterday. Of those receiving the benefit, 5358 males and 6742 females were under 20 years. At May 1, the number of unemployment beneficiaries was 33.147? Of those, 5459 males and 7017 females were under 20 vears.
