N.C.F. will also set record
Another Canterbury freezing company will today pass its previous record kill. The manager of N.C.F. Kaiapoi, Ltd, Mr K. Pearce, said yesterday that the farmer co-operative was expected to pass its previous record kill of 868.000 lambs and sheep, set last season. By the end of the week the tally is expected to be up to 875,000 and Mr Pearce believes that the kill could be up to about 940,000 by the end of the season.
The company has still three chains working at its Kaiapoi works and has sufficient stock offering for a full kill again next week.
