Public Notices AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES PURSUANT to the provisions of Section 121 of the Local Government Act 1974 notice is hereby given that at a meeting of the Amun County Council held on Friday, May 15, 1981, the following estimates were approved for the year commencing on April 1, 1981. and ending on March 31. 1982:— PROPOSED EXPENDITURE: Roads Maintenance and Construction 333,000 S.H. 70 Works* .. 133.000 Fire Protection . 10,000 Reserves and Property Maintenance 90,800 Inspection .. -. 51, W Administration • • 139,900 Other Works and Miscellaneous Payments ... • • 271,5a0 $1,029,400 ESTIMATED RECEIPTS: Credit Balance .. 33,000 Subsidies and Grants 279,900 Petroleum Tax .. 20,000 From Sundry Receipts. Rents, Refunds, etc. .. 202,150 $535,050 The additional amount required is $494,350 and the total capital rateable value of the County is $126,231,515, thus the general rate necessary to raise the required sum is .392 (decimal three nine two) of a cent in the dollar.
PURSUANT to Section 52 of the Rating Act. 1967, PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in exercise of the powers conferred on it. in that behalf, it is the intention of the Amuri County Council at its ordinary meeting to be held at 1.30 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 1981, at the Council Chambers, Cuiverden, to make and levy the following rates and charges: 1. Under Section 136 of the Local Government Act 1974, a general rate of .392 cents in the dollar on the capital value of all rateable property appearing on the valuation rolls of the Amuri County.
2. Under Section 143 (e) of the Local Government Act, 1974:
(a) A Pahau Riding Amenities Rate of .007 cents in the dollar on the capital value of all rateable property in the Pahau Riding. (b) A Hanmer Springs War Memorial Hall Maintenance Rate of .00007 of a cent in the dollar on the capital value of all rateable property in the Hanmer Rjding. (c) A Waiau Hall Maintenance Rate of .008 of a cent in the dollar on the Capital Value of all rateable property in the Waiau and Lyndon Ridings. 3. In exercise of the powers conferred on it by Sections 143 and 158 of the Local Government Act 1974 and in pursuance of Part 22 of the County Bv-Laws the following water supply and maintenance charges: (a)
(i) A Hanmer Springs Water Supply Loan and Maintenance rate of .085 of a cent in the dollar on the capital value of all rateable land in the Hanmer Water Supply area. (ii) An additional charge of 15 cents per five thousand litres on all commercial lands and buildings in the Hanmer and Waiau water supply special areas on a metered supply, for all water used in excess of 450,000 litres per annum. (b)
(i) A Waiau Township Water Supply Loan and Maintenance annual uniform charge varying from $4O- - as classified for connections on all lands in the Waiau Township Water Supply area. (ii) An annual uniform charge of $2O on sections to which water can be connected. (cl (i) A Culverden Township Water Loan and Maintenance annual uniform charge varying from $45$4OO as classified for all connections on all lands in the Culverden Township Water Supply Special Area.
(ii) An annual uniform charge of $l5 for sections to which water can be connected.
(d) A Waiau Rural Water Supply charge of $195.00 per unit. (e) An Amuri Plains Water Water Supply charge of $40.00 per unit. 4. Under Section 160 of the Local Government Act 1974:
A Balmoral Water Race Loan and Maintenance Amalgamated rate of .22, .11, .0366 of a cent in the dollar on the capital value of Classes A, B, C. land respectively in the Balmoral Water Race District. 5. Under Section 162 of the Local Government Act 1974. a charge of $l5 per Water Closet or urinal connected to the Hanmer Sewerage System. 6. Under Section 163 of the Local Government Act 1974, a charge of $lO for domestic and $l5 for trade refuse removal in the Hanmer, Culverden, Rotherham and Waiau town areas.
7. Such rates as the Marlborough Catchment Board shall strike on the capital value of all rateable land in the Marlborough Catchment Board District under the jurisdiction of the Amuri County Council. 8. Such rates a s the North Canterbury Catchment Board shall strike by way of a special order on the capital value of all rateable land in the North Canterbury Catchment Board District under the jurisdiction of the Amuri County Council.
All such rateS and charges shall be for the period commencing on the first day of April, 1981 and ending on March 31, 1982, and the first instalment shall be due and payable on May 1, 1981, and the second instalment shall be due and payable on September 1. 1981, and the third instalment shall be due and payable on January 1, 1982.
