Business course for trainers
A business-management course for racing and trotting trainers and those managing training or breeding establishments will be held at Riccarton on Thursday, June 25.
The course, which is being sponsored by the Canterbury District Committee and the New Zealand Trotting Conference, will cover such subjects as office systems, cash records, budgeting, accounting, cash flow, decision making and taxation. Speakers at the course, which will take the form of a one-day seminar, will include Mr R. J. H. Boyd, chairman of the district committee, honorary treasurer of the Canterbury Jockey Club and partner in a Christchurch firm of accountants; Mr N. Moffatt, secretary of the Banks Peninsula Racing Club ard a public accountant, and Mr P. F. O’Prien, a member of thej New Zealand Racing Author- i ity and a chartered accountant.
Expenses associated with the course, over and above the registration fee of $lO
will be shared by the district committee and the conference.
