Help from driver sought
Christchurch detectives are still waiting to hear from the man .whose car was almost in collision with a 10speed bicycle carrying the young victim of an alleged attempted rape on Sunday. The girl, aged 10, was being taken to Woodham Park by a man aged in his 40s when the bicycle and the car met at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Brittan Street. Avonside. about 4 p.m.
A man has since appeared in the District Court charged with the attempted rape of the girl.
The officer in charge of the case. Detective K. Burrowes. said yesterday that the driiver of the car could probably be a big help to police inquiries. "All we can do is to urge him to come forward," said Detective Burrowes.
