No mail on Monday
Mail will not be delivered in city or country areas on Monday, June 1, Queen’s Birthday. Mail will not be delivered on Saturday, either, except in rural areas where Saturday deliveries are normal. Post Office counters will be closed on Queen's Birthday, but telex facilities will be available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
No bread will be delivered on Monday, but Christchurch bakeries will deliver extra bread on Friday and on Tuesday, June 2.
Most petrol stations will be open during the long week-end. but some owners might decide to take a break, according to a spokesman for the Motor Trade Association.
