Promotions officer
PA Wellington Mr Russell Collins, of the Sydney Turf Club, has been appointed promotions officer for the New Zealand Racing Conference. This was announced yesterday by the secretarymanager of the Racing Conference, Mr H. J. Poland. He said the final decision was made at an executive meeting in Wellington on Friday and the successful applicant was • informed yesterday.
Mr Poland said Mr Collins, aged 25, a New Zealander, was assistant secretary at the Sydney Turf Club.
He has a bachelor of arts degree and a law degree and it was expected he would take up the position in early July.
According to Mr Poland there were about 40 applicants for the job, including another from Australia and one from South Africa.
