Radio Windy improves

Capital City Radio, Ltd, the company which runs Wellington’s Radio Windy private broadcasting station, earned a net • profit of $201,200 in the year to March 31, compared with $231,621 in the 17-month previous period, the directors announced in a preliminary report. The unreported profit for the previous 12 months was $157,400, the directors said, giving an increase of 27.8 per cent for the latest period. Sales were $1,259,200 in the latest period, compared with $1,471,327 in the previous 17 months.

The tax provision was $155,600 ($105,500 in the 17month period) and depreciation took $29,200 ($36,000). A final dividend of 5.75 c gives an annual rate of 8.75 c a share (35 per cent) on capital increased by the one-for-four bonus issue in July. The total dividend represents a 77 per cent increase on the equivalent 12-month period, prior to the bonus issue, the directors said. The dividend is payable on Julv 15, ex dividend on June 29.'
