Erewhon clean-up
Work on the Erewhon skifield (48km from Mount Somers) over the off-season concentrated on a big “cleanup.” All obstacles such as rocks were moved out of the way in an attempt to help the snow lie better. Other moves included the extension of the ski hire and the increase of the number of beds available at Erewhon Park to about 85. Extremely familiar faces will be cropping up again for regular visitors. Alec Newton, originally for Manchester, will be the instructor for the ninth successive winter with welcome assistance once again from Diana Graham, of Christchurch. And Brian Cox will be the man in charge of ski patrol for the fourth or fifth year in a row. '■»—■MWriHMIIIW ■■ l .111 MH—
