The veal yarding was far to large for the demand. The yarding of 102 (85 last week) was made up of mainly younger vealers and these were very difficult to sell. STORE SHEEP

Store ewes had a very good sale and values improved "for the first time in many weeks. Included were three lines of goodquality breeding ewes and the competition for these was particularly strong. Even lighter ewes with little wool were easy to sell. Values over-all improved by $1.50 to $2.

Lambs again had a steady sale. Values remained unchanged by the demand from graziers and freezing works buyers continued to be strong. The lamb yarding was 6505 (5332 last week) and 921 ewes

(750) were offered. Sales of store sheep included.—D. G. Trist (West Melton), 102 Romney lambs at $lO to $11.20; Aorangi Estate (Tai Tapu), 41 Perendale ewe lambs at $14.60; W. B. Gosling (Kumara), 22 Romney ewe' lambs at

Values were:— Light pork: $65 to $75. Heavy pork: $77 to $BB. Light and medium bacon: $9O to $llO. Heavy bacon: to $ll5. Light choppers: $3O to $45. Heavy choppers: $B5 to $ll5. STORE PIGS The store pig market was well supplied with well-grown pigs. Local buyers competed freely for these. Good-quality weaners and slips were in short supply and had a very good sale. Values were:— Small weaners: $2O to $24. Good weaners: $2B to $35. Slips and small stores: $4O to $5O. Large stores: to $6O.
