Horse loses 2 wins and $2200
The Dunedin-trained trotter, Puketapu, has been disqualified from two races he won early last November and the Four and One Syndicate, which races him has been ordered to return the $2200 he won in stakes. This action was taken last week by a special sub-com-mittee of the executive of the Trotting Conference after an inquiry into an irregularity of ownership under Rule 110 of the Rulesj of Trotting involving one of; the members of uie syndi-i cate. j the East Otago Handicap at 'the Waikouaiti meeting on I November 1 and the Oreti Handicap at the Invercargill meeting run at Winton three days later. As a result of .... disqualification of Puketapu, Birthday Lad, Proudfoot, Adiantum and Minstra have been promoted to fill the stake-bearing placings at the Waikouaiti meeting, while Kentucky Chief. Al Butler. Adian’um and Jimmy Scott have been promoted ’in the Invercargill club’s race. Birthday Lad and Kentucky Chief will both receive winning stakes, but will not be penalised under the handicapping system.
