The audited group net profit of The Christchurch Press Company, Ltd, rose 13.5 per cent to $691,837, the directors announced yesterday in a preliminary report They also reported an increase of 3 per cent in circulation, to bring the audited figure to 79,000 a day. An unchanged final dividend of 7.5 c a share will be recommended, payable on July 9, ex dividend June 30. The shares from the recent cash issue made in February do dot participate in the dividend. The record result was after providing $16,884 more for depreciation at $191,026, an $11,883 more for taxation at $510,138.
Revenue increased 21.8 per cent to $14.1M during the year.
