Seamen to strike
PA Wellington The Seamen’s Union has voted overwhelmingly for q 24-hour strike on the day the Springboks arrive in New Zealand.
The union’s president (Mr D. Morgan) said in Welling, ton last evening that the vote was carried after national stopwork meetings on Monday and Tuesday heard a report on the tour from the union’s national council.
The decision will halt New Zealand-manned ships in. eluding the inter-island ferries.
