Junior women’s title
PA Palmerston North Manakau’s Karen Young won the New Zealand junior women’s golf championships on the Hokowhitu course at Palmerston North yesterday, beating Dianne Briston, of Wanganui, 1-up. ' Miss Young, the top qualifier in the event for the last two years, beat what
appeared to be her strongest opponent in Debbie Randell (Nelson), 4 and 3, in the morning semi-final, but her own mistakes made her match against Miss Bristol longer than it should have been. .In the other semi-final Miss Bristol beat K. Johnson, of Opotiki, at the nineteenth.
