Table tennis medals
PA Wellington The New Zealand table tennis team has returned from the world championships in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia, with two medals — the first world medals ever won by New Zealand. Barry Griffiths, aged 17,
won a bronze medal for equal third place in the men’s consolation singles, and Kadia Rice, aged 16, won a bronze medal for equal third place in the women’s consolation singles. The consolation events are for players beaten in their first-round matches.
