Nuclear weapons
Sir — I read in “Zealandia”May 10, that the Bishop and a priest of Hartford, Connecticut, protested strongly against the naming of a United States nuclear attack submarine Corpus Christi. The Bishop said the name was offensive to Catholics. Surely not only Catholics, but all Christians will be offended. This must be the ultimate blasphemy and what will non-Christians say? To call a nuclear submarine, that may kill and maim millions of oeople. “the body of Christ,” is so inept, that those
responsible in the Pentagon must be quite insane. — Yours, etc., E. WEBSTER. May 11, 1981.
