P.M. meets Air N.Z. heads
Parliamentary reporter The Prime; Minister (Mr Muldoon) met the.chairman of Air New’ Zealand (Mr C.' W. Mace) and another director of the: airline (Mr J. D. Dalgety) this weekto discuss the list of questions he has put to the board over the DCIO crash on Mount Erebus: "Some of the questions will be answered fairly quickly and easily, others will take longer,” ■ Mr Muldoon said after the meeting. "There is a difficulty in that the answers to some of them, if made public, and
even possibly if not.' made public, could affect the settlement of claims on behalf of the victims of the disaster and the relationship between the. company and its insurers," he said. “As far as the insurers are concerned, the company must not make any admissions of culpability that would prejudice the rights of the insurers. There is a technical difficulty there that might cause some delay, but I’m hopeful that I will get the bulk of the answers fairly quickly,” Mr Muldoon said.
