Two Kiwis out
Two of Auckland’s 11 present or former Kiwis have withdrawn from its team to meet South Island in an inter-districts rugby league match at Carlaw Park on Sunday. Those' not available are the scrum-half, Shane Varley, who has a broken bone
in a hand, and the loose forward, Gary Prohm. Prohm’s place has been taken by the 1978 Kiwi, lan Bell, with Owen Wright being Bell, with Owen Wright being promoted from the reserves to the secbnd-row. The new .scrum-half is Brian Conning, of Glenora.
