The duties will be concerned with Diagnostic Electron Microscopy and the appointee " will work in close conjunction with the Electron Microscope Laboratory of the University of Otago Department of Pathology. Experience in electron microscopy is essential and the level of appointment and grading will depend on the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Duties will include the preparation of tissues for examination by transmission electron microscopy as well as the viewing, photgraphy and interpretation of biopsy material for clinical diagnostic purposes. An interest in developmental and clinical investigative work would be encouraged. Although the bulk of the duties would be ’called to transmission electron microscopy there would also be access to a scanning I electron microscope. The I Laboratory is equipped with a i Siemen’s Elmiskop 102 and a Hitachi JIUtl Transmission electron microscope and a Sicmen's/Etec Autoscan.
