TECHNICAL ' TEACHER EDUCATION GOROKA TEACHERS’ COLLEGE Applications are invited for the post of Senior Tutor/ Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Technical Teacher Education at Goroka Teachers’ College, a constituent campus of the University of Papua New Guinea. It is hoped that the Appointee will commence duties by September, 1981, at the latest. Applicants should have a degree or degree-level professional qualification in a technological field and a professional qualification in education. Applicants should have relevant industrial experience. teaching experience in technical subjects (preferably in technical college or similar institution), and, preferably experience in teaching in a developing country and/or teaching education. The college’s main function is the training of high school teachers. However, teachers’ for technical; education are also trained there, and the successful applicant’s responsibilities will probably be almost exclusively in this field. He will be responsible for teaching the technical teaching method and Mathematics components of the, technical teacher education course to a wide variety of tradesmen and technicians. Where possible technical support will be given to provide specialist inputs to the various trades as required. The successful candidate will also need to possess qualities of adaptability and initiative in order to develop the scope of the course and its support elements. The ability to cope with limited resources and handle contacts with a wide range of government personnel is essential. SALARY: PROFESSOR: K 20,225 per annum plus gratuity.
