Military training
Sir,—Contrary to what Jo Evans and J. K. Batt might think (April 27), we have not "side-tracked” from our original issue, but rather have been diverted by other correspondents into discussing discipline and camaraderie. We strongly stand by the assertions in our first letter. However, as our final word on this subject, we are saddened to report that " since our last letter was published we have both personally witnessed such undisciplined and irresponsible behaviour on the part of former Armed Forces personnel as to make it quite clear in our minds that the forces are definitely no place for people who might already display anti-social tendencies (i.e. bikies). Indeed, we believe some people come out of the forces lower in character than when they went in—Yours, etc., RON A. EVANS, ALISTAIR H. GARDNER. April 27, 1981.
