Epilepsy appeal
Sir, — Members of the Epilepsy Association wish to thank the several thousand Christchurch citizens who generously supported the association’s recent street appeal. Likewise they would be grateful for the use of your columns to acknowledge the help received in collecting from friends and relatives of sufferers, and especially from pupils of several secondary schools. The amount given, $3673, was significantly more than last year. This will make possible increased efforts to broaden the public’s knowledge of epilepsy in its various forms. It will also help to reduce the difficulties of some of the 1500 persons believed to suffer to a greater or lesser extent from this disorder in Christchurch. — Yours, etc.. JOHN FRY. President. Christchurch branch N.Z. Epilepsy Assn. April 24, 1981.
