This unusual view was taken the bow of H.M.N .Z.S. Mo nowai, as she was approaching Vancouver, Canada, at the end of a trans-Pacific voyage. The effect was achieved by using a "fish-eye" camera lens. During her voyage, the Monowai surveyed a proposed route for a new cable. The ship is now on her way back to New Zealand.
