Terms of reference for the review have been set and in summary, they involve an examination of court sanctions and dispositions available in criminal cases, changes that could be made, tne roles of prisons, the work programmes in prisons, facilities for prisons, alternatives to imprisonment, communitv and cultural sanctions, parole, reports of professionals to courts, professional services for offenders, preparation and victim assistance, the expunging of criminal records and methods foi evaluating penal policy. . . The final date for the receipt of submissions is May 29, 1981. Individuals or groups wishing to make submissions are invited to request copies of the terms of reference and the guidelines for the preparation of submissions from: THE PROJECT OFFICER, PENAL REVIEW, DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE. PRIVATE BAG, HS2B CASCADE CREEK FIORDLAND NATIONAL PARK SUBMISSIONS ARE INVITED from people or organisations interested in providing facilities, operated on a commercial basis, at Cascade Creek on the Te Anau-Milford Highway. Public opinion indicates that the type of facilities required should cater in the first instance for a tearoom/shop providing light meals and adequate toilets for public use, provision for first aid and a public telephone, will also be required. Submissions should include the following minimum information: (1) Immediate and long term proposals, together with estimates of total capital cost accompanied by adequate plans. (2) Evidence of the applicant’s ability to finance the project. (3) Evidence that the applicant has the necessary skill and experience to provide -the required standard of service to the public, and maintain it as a viable proposition.
