U.S. buyer for DC1O
PA Auckland Air New Zealand, which this week completed details of the sale of one of its DClOs, had buyers interested in three others, said the chief executive, Mr M. R. Davisj
The market for secondhand DClOs was looking stronger, he said. “People are showing a lot of interest. In addition to the one we have sold there is the prospect of selling three others.”
Mr Davis has just returned from the United States where he completed the first sale with an American corporation which will lease the aircraft to Western Airlines. Western might also take a second aircraft. The other prospective buyers were not named, Air New Zealand has seven DClOs. but will replace them during the next two years with five Boeing 7475.
The airline plans to get rid of three DClOs this year, the first in June.
It will take delivery of its first Boeing 747 on May 27 and will start scheduled services with it on June 11.
