Oscar nominees
NZIA London The New Zealand-born Pamela Stephenson and the Australian, : Barry Humphries, have been nominated for British television Oscars. Pamela Stephenson, whose outrageous humour has taken Britain by storm,, is nominated for two Oscars for her part in the 8.8.C.’s “Not The Nine O’clock News.”
' She was cited both as best| actress and for the best light entertainment performance: in the nominations for the awards, to be given by the British Academy of Film and TV Arts in March. Her rivals for the latter award include Rowan Atkinson, her co-star in the 8.8.C.’s hit comedy series. "Not The Nine O’clock News,” is itself named as a contender for tire title best light - entertainment programme along with "The Kenny Everett Video Show,” “The Two Ronnies,” and “An Audience With Dame Edna Everage.”
