Hornby P.O. to shift
The .Hornby Post Office will be resited in' the Hornby shopping mall from March 9, because the present building is too small. "We have simply run out of room there,” said the Chief Postmaster in Christchurch. Mr D. Page. No plans had been made for the existing office, oppo- < site the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board building, once it had been vacated. Mr Page said that the
normal procedure would be for it to be transferred to the Ministry of Works and Development, which would try to find another Government department to use it. The new office will be at the southern end of the mall, near the clock tower. It will continue to offer full Post Office services, including a savings bank, and two new public telephones will be provided within the mall. Another telephone will be placed opposite it.
