No charges of rape
The Christchurch police will take no further action about allegations by a young woman that she had been raped by members of a motor-cycle gang early on Monday morning. Several persons had been interviewed by detectives, and inquiries were now complete, said Detective SeniorSergeant R. G. Carson last
evening. No charges would follow.
The woman, aged 19, had complained to the police at 1.15 a.m. on Monday, that she had been gang-raped at a Christchurch address. The police investigation was held up because some of those wanted for questioning had gone to the North Island. They had now been spoken to, he said.
