Right Bower may race at Auckland meeting
Right Bower probably earned himself a trip to Alexandra Park for the Auckland meeting next month when he outclassed his rivals in the Licensed Trade Handicap at Addington Raceway last evening, ing. Right Bower was well last 1200 m and he .had improved verv little with 700 m left. He then improved to be showing up wide out but back several places starting the run home. He gathered in the leading group with ease and came on to win with plenty in reserve by 2 lengths from The
f.ider, which made ground! at a great rate near the end. Raced by the Ashby brothers, David and Maurice, Right Bower is trained by (an Cameron, who said later that the horse had “just kept on improving every day.” Cameron said the horse ■had been troubled by a recurring cough earlier in the season and had taken a long time to recover fully. He is now a C 8 horse and the five-year-old by Out to Win from Ara looks capable of much further improvement. Prince Nugert ra"ed up to his fine recent efforts when he came on for third, half al
length from The Raider. There was a head to Benrodden, a head to IndividuElist and a length to Trevor Hodgen, which was still last Inside the last 800 m. However, after a protracted inquiry into alleged interference by Prince Nugent to Lincmac near the 700 m Prince Nugent was disqualified from third placing. It was found that his driver, Z. Gregg; was guilty of careless driving, and he was suspended until after March' 9. Logan Lea was right up, seventh, ahead of Sepoti and D’Or Favori, which failed to secure a run in the straight.
