Roman Catholic gift to HART
Sir, — G. Hall and R. Taylor (February 23) appear to be confused about the “Tablet” editor’s comments on the tour. They related to two distinct issues: first, the donation to HART and second, an earlier “Zealandia” ediial. He used the words “int'leiant” and “too dogmatic” when referring to the “Zealandia” editorial, not HART. The “Zealandia” editorial implied that the only moral option for Catholics was to support HART, whereas the “Tablet” maintains that there are good arguments on both sides, so if the motives are correct Catholics can support either side. This position seems more tolerant than that of the aforementioned correspondents to “The Press.”— Yours, etc., ■ February 23, 1981. . J. C. RING.
