Maiden winner disqualified
PA' Hastings Achadora, winner of the Turanganui Maiden No. 1 at the Poverty Bay meeting on September 3 last year, has been disqualified from that placing. On February 5, 1981, a sub-committee of the Hawke’s Bay district racing committee, heard a charge preferred by the chief racecourse detective, Mr Jim Fleming, against R. J. Harris, of Gisborne, the registered owner-trainer ofAchadora. The charge alleged that there was an' unregistered
joint interest in the form of a lease arrangement on Achadora when it started in the Turanganui Maiden No. 1. 'Mr Harris has admitted the breach. The committee ordered that Achadora be disqualified and that the stake money of $9OO be refunded to the secretary of the New Zealand Racing Conference Harris was fined $4OO and ordered to pay costs of the inquiry amounting to $l5O. The ammended placing for the Turanganui Maiden No. 1 are: Addanote 1; Le Anna 2; Lootenant 3; Honourelle 4.
