Auckland, No. 3 Squadron flies helicopters, has been involved in rescues, particularly in the Southern Alps, and has flown several cyclone relief missions in Fiji. The commanding officer. Wing Commander R. Holdaway, said the presentation would be a big event in the squadron’s history and he hoped that former, members .of the squadron would attend the ceremony.
