Drop in passengers
PA ' Dunedin The closing of Dunedin Airport by floodwaters in June and July was mainly responsible for a 36 per cent fall in the numbers of passengers ' going through the airport on Air New. Zealand flights last year. ~ ,
The manager of Air New Zealand at Dunedin, Mr W. J. A. Loffhagen, said the disastrous Taieri flood closed the airport for 48 days. ■This helped reduce passenger movements from 273,522 in : 1979 to 210!295 last year.
