New liner will use New Zealand carpets
Last week Hapag Uoyd’s new cruise ship Europa- was launched at the Bremer Vulkan shipyard and, when, she enters the worldwide cruise service near the end of 1981, she will bear with her a tribute to New Zealand. The present Europa will continue in the cruise- service until late. 1981, but unlike her pre. decessor, the new Europa will be carpeted throughout with carpeting made by Feltex New Zealand and arranged for and carried on behalf of the manufacturer hy Seabridge New Zealand in contai nets to Bremen. ■ The design of the new Europa represents a new c ° n ,^ e P* w !|? vertical separation between different departments and Passenger cabins,. accommodating 600, situated forward, far from the engine noises. Alongside the and further aft are the public rooms such as the main lounge and the dining saloons. The Europa, «r°ss ln « 35.0T0 tons, is 198 m long with a beam and will cruise at 21 knots.
