Bromley-Marshland power pylons
Sir, — What was emphatically demonstrated at last Monday night’s public meeting was that the residents of the eastern suburbs' will not tolerate a large number of pylons through their area. It is not good enough to bring national grid standards through populated communities. Proper planning should bring such grids to the outskirts of cities and reticulate at lower capacities by underground routes. There are precedents being set elsewhere.and it is time our planners went back to their design boards and had a rethink. — Yours, etc., C. D. McKENZIE. November 26, 1980.
