Objection to programme
Sir — You reported the Prime Minister as saying that the programme "Close Up” had shown that the Government did not influence television in New Zealand. “Not only do we not influence television but there are people in television who are using their positions for anti-Govern-ment propaganda.” he said. Complaints would be made to the corporation about both items because of their “lack of balance” Mr Muldoon said. Mr Muldoon's reactions remind me very much of those in other countries. Which countries? Answer: East Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, etc. Please New Zealand be aware of what is going on. — Yours etc. R. J. VAN DEN BRINK. November 25, 1980.
